A common mistake in Oxbridge tuition is choosing a tutor who tries to shape an applicant in to a mold of a 'model Oxbridge candidate'. There is no such thing. What's more, it's annoying for admissions tutors to try to figure out what a student is actually like, and they are adept at spotting when a candidate has been overcoached or presenting a version of themselves that isn't authentic.
It doesn't have to be like this.
My tuition is only to assist applicants on tackling interesting, challenging, and unfamiliar problems. It's all about developing problem solving skills to give them the confidence that they'll need for the interview. Nothing else can be done to prepare for such interviews, and it turns out that the candidate's thinking, communication and problem-solving skills are all that matter anyway. There'll be no learning scripts, no cramming, and no painting people different colours.
The kind of questions that I will cover with students will be a combination of ones I have created myself, questions from Isaac Physics (a brilliant resource if you haven't yet checked it out), and questions from various International Olympiad competitions. I have found that the difficulty of some of these questions closely simulates the difficulty of an Oxbridge interview.
The skills you’ll develop during these sessions aren’t just for the interview—they’re valuable for your academic journey as a whole. Whether at Oxbridge or another top university, the problem-solving, critical thinking, and clear communication skills you’ll sharpen will serve you throughout your studies and beyond. These are the same skills that will help you excel in coursework, research, and even future career opportunities.

Disclaimer- These sessions are designed to supplement the hard work you’re already putting into your own studies. They are meant to expose you to difficult, unseen questions to help build your confidence, but the majority of your preparation should be done independently. The content I covered during my own application and interview is confidential and will not be shared with future applicants. While I can’t guarantee success in your application, I can assure you that the most important factor is your genuine passion for your subject and the effort you put into preparing on your own.
